Betsy Wilkerson voted in as Spokane City Council’s newest member

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane City Council has filled their vacant seat – Betsy Wilkerson is their newest council member.

She was voted in unanimously by six council members, and will now represent District 2.

Wilkerson is the owner and administrator of Moore’s Assisted Living, a family business that she took over in 1992. According to the Carl Maxey Center, she has volunteered as president of the Women Helping Women Fund, served the Junior League of Spokane, St. Luke’s Community Advisory Board and the Emmanuel Family Life Center.

She also served on the Commission for Judicial Conduct for 16 years, and completed two board terms on the Inland Northwest Community Foundation.

In 2001, Wilkerson was given the Women Helping Women award, and in 2002 the Excellence in Community Trustee award.
